Location Map

Sat Navs postcodes: Silandro I-39028,
Goldrain/Laces I-39021, Malles I-39024

By Car: from Austria using the Reschenpass

Innsbruck in westerly direction (do NOT follow Brenner/Italy) aim for Swizerland (Schweiz) then take exit for - Landeck - Nauders and Reschenpass (also signed for Meran).
[ Border crossing - Reschenpass ] An hour (ish) from here.
Direction : (Meran/Merano) through Reschen/Resia - Burgeis/Burgusio - Mals/Malles - Laas/Lasa - Schlanders/Silandro.

The Kulturhaus and Schlandersburg are quite central in the town of Silandro/Schlanders. Much of the centre is pedestrianised, there are pay car parks close by.

The turning for Coldrano/Goldrain is 5 kms from Silandro (direction Meran), it is on the RIGHT after a small industrial zone (on right side) and a short tunnel. It's only 50m after the tunnel exit so watch your speed, it's small and you could miss it. If you do miss it just take the next RIGHT and you'll double back on yourself. If you don't miss it then you will find two speed bumps and a bridge at the bottom which you go under by turning LEFT, carry on straight up through the village. The castle is at the end... you can't miss it. If in doubt just follow the brown signs for the castle (Schloss).

Marienberg is above the town of Burgeis/Burgusio, On the evenings of the event there will be no on-street or off-road parking available (it's on the side of a mountain) and the village has limited parking space. If you feel fit there is a path, Otherwise please use the shuttle buses that will be operating to and from the train station in Mals/Malles.

By Car: from Verona, and east Austria via the Brenner Pass

Autostrada / Motorway :
Exit : Bolzano Sud (45-60 min from here)
Direction : Merano - Naturno - Castelbello - Laces - Coldrano (don't turn into these towns unless of course you want a touristic detour, stay on the main road, heading for Silandro (straight across the roundabouts/traffic islands).

The turning for Coldrano/Goldrain is around the bend, on the right, after passing the Shell garage. It's a small narrow road that runs parallel to the main road next to the apple trees. Follow the brown signs for the castle (Schloss) on your right.

By Train:

Bozen/Bolzano - Meran/Merano (2 per hour, journey time of 40 min)
Meran/Merano - Goldrain/Coldrano, Silandro/Schlanders, Mals/Malles (1 per hour, journey time of 50 min to Coldrano)

10 min walk to Castle Goldrain/Coldrano, and to the centres of Silandro/Schlanders and Malles/Mals from their respective train stations. A note for the Brits... you will find the trains remarkably reliable and VERY inexpensive to what you're used to!

ATTENTION: you can buy the value tickets for 5/10/20 euro at the station in Meran or directly on the train having the right money with you, that allows you to take the train in Val Venosta as often as you like with a cheaper rate. The ticket for a single trip costs a lot more. Both ways Merano/Coldrano costs less than 5 euro with the value tickets. There is also a day ticket for Bolzano and Val Venosta that costs less than 9 euro and a week ticket for Bolzano and Val Venosta that costs 15 euro.
