Gianni Bodini was born in Lasa/Laas in Venosta Valley. For over thirty years he has been documenting and presenting various aspects of the millenarian alpine culture: photographs, articles, publications, exhibitions and documentaries, debates and conferences.

Every spring the farmer, last representative of numerous generations of tenacious colonists of the heights, repeats the ancient ways that allow him to earn his survival.
For centuries, maybe even millenniums, the Venostan flocks of sheep cross the alpine mountains every summer at over 3000 m altitude to reach the green fields of the Ötztal: an amazing sight!

The lack of water in Venosta Valley is chronic. Once there were the Waale (channels for irrigation), water veins to satisfy the thirsty ground. Nowadays the sprayed irrigation brings relief to the fields and medows until late autumn.

The first winter snow announces the resting time for both men and nature, at least at the highest altitudes. Nowadays on that white cover a rainbowed and noisy carosel of turns: ephemeral light plays.
