WELCOME !

A weekend of images and sound.
Coldrano Castle (Schloss Goldrain).

The first 'PAINTING WITH LIGHT' international audio visual event took place at Coldrano Castle, South Tyrol, Italy.

For the first time, international artists presented work to the festival audience in this mountain valley of val Venosta. Work came from Australia, France, Italy, United Kingdom and USA.

Over 500 people visited the weekend event with the biggest turn-out being for the outdoor 'spettacolo' on Saturday evening. Many of the visitors had not experienced multivision before.

The principal event took place outside, in the castle grounds, and included an impressive program of work presented on the castle walls and buildings.

'Painting with light' is a concept used to change the 'face' of a structure without changing the structure of the building physically. In this case Schloss Goldrain (Castel Coldrano) became a 'canvas' on which the artists "painted" their creations using the power of projections.

Professional and amateur artists see the convergence and the interplay between the visual and audio arts, and multivision offers an important example of this union, bringing them together in perfect harmony.

The "Sessions" of Multivisione using the more traditional slide and sound techniques were a great success, and created huge interest and discussion within the audience.

The objectives of the festival:

  • reinforce the idea that images and sounds, combined together, are a source of great emotion in 'painting' stories and ideas;
  • present - to a public audience - work of a genre that they may not have experienced previously;
  • create an atmosphere for exchanging ideas and to provoke creative thinking;
  • provide a public outlet for contemporary professional and amateur artists.
